The winner of this game will go on top of Group F. So both teams will be looking to get all three points in this one.
The home side had an awesome campaign last time in the regular season. But in the playoffs, they had to conclude their journey early.
They remain unbeaten in both their games so far. So they just have to win the remaining games to reach the last eight this season.
The Timbers is the only team to win both their group matches so far. But this will be their first challenge in terms of team strength.
Both these teams have a habit of conceding goals and the best defensive performer will get the win in this upcoming match.
There is no home advantage for the LA as they are playing in a neutral venue. But they have a clear advantage in head to head matches in the recent past. They have the record of finishing at the top in the Western Conference.
The Timbers have a poor record against the top teams in the competition. They tend to draw most of their games against some of the best teams in the United States. Also, they have lost all three previous league matches against this opposition. So I am backing LA to win this one.
All four previous head to head matches saw goals at both ends of the field. The hosts have scored in both the matches so far. Portland has also found the back of the net in their matches against LA Galaxy and the Dynamo. So we can expect both of them to score yet again on Friday.
