Liverpool vs Paris Saint Germain
UEFA – Champions League
Date: Tuesday, 18 September 2018
Kick-Off at 20:00 UK
Venue: Anfield (Liverpool)
Liverpool host Paris Saint Germain for their Tuesday’s Champions League derby clash at Anfield on the back of a furious start in Premier League, hoping to build on their great spell of results and bag the all-important points in Group C as well.
Reds have bagged 15 points in five league outings this term, sharing the top spot with in-form Chelsea, as we’ve seen them beat West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City, and most recently Tottenham Hotspur. They’ve been regularly netting numbers of goals and Jurgen Klopp will be very happy with the tally so far, hoping his men can show off against the French dominants too.
PSG boast a similar record in Ligue 1 early on and we’ve seen them kick off the new campaign with a thrashing 4-0 Super Cup win over Monaco, building on the success on the backs of an in-form attacking trident Mbappe – Cavani – Neymar. They’ve beaten Saint-Etienne 4-0 on Friday evening and this was their seventh consecutive outing where they bagged three or more goals, which will be more worrying for the crowd in Liverpool.
However, we do feel Liverpool will now be able to capitalize on their more troubled performances on the road and edge this one their way, as we go for a Home win at 2.30. Reds have been in great shape against the big guns too and this could prove crucial early in their Champions League season as well.
However, PSG should be no easy rivals to put up with. They’ve been amazing in the attacking third and we do see them making it on the score sheet too, as we go for Over 2.5 goals FT as more of a banker bet at 1.44 – hoping to see Liverpool outgun the visitors to their first points in the group.
