Liverpool will seek their maiden win of the 2023/24 season on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Bournemouth in Gameweek No 2 at the Anfield.

The Reds showed two completely opposite faces on Sunday. They fully dominated the pitch of the Stamford Bridge stadium in the opening 30 minutes of the affair, scoring two unanswered goals past Chelsea, one of which was disallowed for a slight offside call.

Nevertheless, the overall picture on the pitch has completely changed since Salah’s disallowed goal as Chelsea suddenly pressed Jurgen Klopp’s men, eventually earning an equalizer through Disasi before Ben Chilwell’s goal was also ruled out for offside.

Liverpool finished the game in London with just one shot on target in the 90 minutes of play and the fans will certainly want to see more from Klopp’s troops on Saturday.

On paper, Liverpool are big favorites against Bournemouth but we must not forget that the Cherries are very much capable of showing strong resistance against almost any team in the division.

Bournemouth started the new season under Andoni Iraola with a 1-1 stalemate against West Ham at Vitality Stadium.

They showed great character to come back after conceding a screamer from Jarrod Bowen. Obviously, it was their talisman Dominic Solanke who came up with a late equalizer to rescue the point in what was a highly competitive and exciting affair.

• Bournemouth conceded nine unanswered goals when they last visited the Anfield exactly a year ago.
• They got their revenge via a 1-0 victory in the return match in March this year at Vitality Stadium, their only second win over Liverpool in 15 H2H clashes.
• Liverpool have six wins and a draw in the last seven home outings against the Cherries with a goal difference of 21-3 in the process.

Bournemouth are capable of causing problems to any team in the league at their Vitality Stadium. The story is somewhat different when they play away from home. Liverpool desperately need to get the win after the last weekend’s slip-up at the Stamford Bridge.

We have no other option but to back the Reds to win by two or more goals difference at the odds of 1.60. We also like Mohamed Salah to score anytime for Liverpool at the 1.83 odds.
