Steffen Schmidt - April 24, 2023
Leeds vs Leicester
English Premier League
Date: 25 April 2023, Tuesday
Kick-off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Elland Road (Leeds).
Leeds will host Leicester in a massive six-pointer on Tuesday evening at Elland Road. The two teams are separated by just one point right on the brink of the red zone and the outcome of this match can easily determine their destinies for the next season.
Leicester will enter the tie in higher spirits after a comeback victory over Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
The players showed great spirits to fight their way to a huge three-pointer against Wolves in Dean Smith’s first game in charge at King Power Stadium.
The fact the Foxes have done it without their star man James Maddison in the squad makes the achievement even more impressive. The skipper is expected to return to the team for Tuesday’s game.
Leeds, on the other side, suffered their third consecutive league loss, falling 2-1 to Fulham on Saturday afternoon in the capital.
The team led by Javi Gracia continued with their poor defensive performances, allowing too many chances to the Cottagers at the weekend.
The Peacocks have allowed at least two goals in six of the previous seven matches across competitions. They shipped 13 in the previous three league affairs.
This will be the music to the ears of Kelechi Iheanacho who is pushing for another start after scoring one of his team’s two goals in the weekend’s success.
Leicester will come into this in higher spirits after the weekend’s win over Wolves. Knowing they’ve also won six of the last seven H2H clashes with Leeds, we are very much tempted by the 3.10 odds offered for the away win bet.
We will alternatively take the 3.50 odds offered for Kelechi Iheanacho to score anytime for the visitors after the Nigerian’s penalty-kick goal against Wolves on Saturday.
