Steffen Schmidt - April 26, 2023
Lecce vs Udinese
Italian Serie A
Date: 28 April 2023, Friday
Kick-off at 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Stadio Comunale Via del Mare (Lecce).
Udinese will make a long trip to south of the country to take on Lecce in the first game of Matchday No 32 on Friday afternoon at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare.
The hosts are in desperate need for points after claiming just one in the previous eight league affairs.
The latest of their failures came on Sunday when they fell 2-0 away at AC Milan, continuing their poor attacking form.
Lecce are now only two points above the red zone and they are craving for a result here in front of the home crowd with the away fixtures against Juventus and Lazio upcoming next month.
Head coach Marco Baroni is extremely worried about the lack of attacking creativity in his squad as Lecce have failed to score more than a couple of goals in the last eight Serie A outings.
The attacking efficiency has by no means been an issue for Udinese who will enter this on the back of a 3-0 drubbing of Cremonese last weekend.
Lazar Samardzic pulled of one of his best performances of the season by contributing with a goal and an assist in the first half five days ago.
Udinese thus returned to winning ways after three winless outings. They are 9th in the league table but with as many as ten points between them and Atalanta in seventh position.
This is a huge game for Lecce who can ill afford another slip-up in front of the home fans. However, since they have only bagged two goals in the previous eight league outings, we do not expect a goal fest on Friday afternoon.
Udinese have also notched just one goal in the last four away games in the Serie A. We will take the Under 2.5 goals FT bet at the 1.66 odds. Alternatively, the home win looks decent t the 2.45 odds considering the circumstances.
