Houston started off with a draw against Los Angeles FC. But it was followed by the defeat to Portland Timbers who are at the top of Group F. Like their upcoming opposition, they have a weak defense that has conceded 5 goals in their two matches.
Galaxy is at the bottom of the Group after losing both games. They are the only team yet to win a game this season. This was definitely not expected from the team that played in the playoffs last season. Even though they scored in both games the defense has failed them miserably.
There was never a drought for goals when these two faced off in the recent past. Both of the found the back of the net in all seven of their previous head to head games. In fact, the rate at which both these teams are conceding goals points at a similar result in Florida this Friday.
Another highlight of their head to head fixtures was that the final score had more than 2.5 goals in six previous games. Even though the Galaxy is in poor form, they have scored two or more goals in all six of those meetings. They have also conceded two or more times in their two games in this season as well. Also, in their games so far, both these sides have given away goals early in the first half. So I am backing a score an early goal and a final score with more than 3.5 goals.
