Top of the table meet the very bottom on Saturday afternoon as leaders KuPS host the rock-bottomed VPS at Vare Areena in Kuopio.
VPS produced their best performance of the season seven days ago, beating Inter Turku 3-0 at home to snatch their second win of the campaign.
They are still one point shy of Mariheman and Lahti at the foot of the table and they still own the worst attacking record in the Veikkausliiga with only 9 goals scored in 13 matches.
These are by no means stats to be proud of, especially ahead of the fixture against the best team in the country this year.
KuPS are the only team with the double-digit number of wins this season. They won 10 of 15 league fixtures.
The last year’s runners-up own the second-best defensive record in the competition with just 9 goals shipped in 15 outings.
They will go into this on the back of a great attacking display in a 3-4 road win over Lahti. The team led by Jani Hionkavaara won five of the last six league games and they have conceded only a single goal in the last five home outings across competitions.
