Peter Green - October 27, 2018
Krylya Sovetov vs Zenit St. Petersburg
Russia – Premier League
Date: Monday, 29th October 2018
Kick-off at 15.00 UK/ 16.00 CET
Venue: Samara Arena, Samara.
Zenit St. Petersburg raced to the top of the table within no time. They have a comfortable lead over the second and third-placed teams, and they will want to keep it that way.
They dropped their intensity a bit in last two weeks, with two careless defeats against minnows Dyn. Moscow and Anzhi. They will be desperate to make amends for that.
Samara has been struggling in the relegation zone almost from the start of the league. They have an unwanted stat in their name with the least goals scored in the league till now. A meagre five goals from eleven rounds of the Premier League.
Despite their home advantage, Samara won’t be considered having any chance at all against the mighty Zenit.
The visitors will convert the three points with considerable ease. They will want to shake off the complacency that had them affected the latter half of this month. Against a struggling defence, Zenit will look to dominate proceedings from the first minute itself.
The Sovetov forwards, who have scored just a combined five goals so far in this year’s competition will not be bothering the Zenit defence much.
The hosts can consider themselves lucky if they can take the ball out of their half for a total of at least 10-20 minutes.
In a match where the team with the most goals in the league meets the side with the least goals scored, the result is not that hard to predict.
