Switzerland will look to return to winning ways in qualifying group I on Saturday evening when they visit Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri for the Matchday No 5 clash against Kosovo.
La Nati are in a terrific situation after four rounds, sitting alone at the top of the section standings with ten points.
Their maximum record was only denied by Mihaila’s super-late brace in the home draw to Romania in June (2-2). It was another match in which the Swiss team well deserved a three-pointer after dominating the pitch throughout the whole course of the affair.
Zeki Amdouni established himself as the new star of Swiss football. His brace against Romania three months ago took his total tally to five goals in four qualifying matches.
Amdouni alone has thus scored almost double of Kosovo’s total goals in this group as the hosts managed to find the back of the net just three times in four outings.
Kosovo’s ambitions of joining the battle for the top two positions in this group suffered a huge blow with a 1-1 draw to Andorra and a 2-1 defeat against Belarus in recent outings.
The mentioned results have provoked a managerial change as Slovakian coach Primo Gliha took over Alain Giresse on the bench in July.
It will be very interesting to see how Kosovo will look under Gliha. His first test could have hardly been tougher.
Kosovo possess quality in their ranks with the likes of Vedat Muriqi, Milot Rashica, Valon Berisha, Amir Rrahmani, etc. but they have struggled badly to find goals under French manager Alain Giresse. Kosovo won just one of the last nine games in all competitions and we must see them as the underdogs in the match against Switzerland.
The away win is the main pick at the 1.65 odds while we will alternatively back La Nati to keep a clean sheet at the 2.10 odds.
