Juventus vs Parma
Italy – Serie A
Date: Sunday, 19 January 2020
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Allianz Stadium (Turin).
Serie A table-toppers are heavy favourites to land their fifth Serie A win on the trot when they entertain Parma this weekend.
The Bianconeri extended their winning streak in the league to four games following a 2-1 victory over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Maurizio Sarri’s side took full advantage on Inter Milan’s slip-up against Atalanta and reclaimed the pole position for the Scudetto.
Juve have improved since the Suppercopa loss and bagged ten goals over the last three fixtures across competitions. Ronaldo-less Juve crushed Udinese 4-0 in the Coppa game with goals from Dybala (2), Higuain and Douglas Costa.
Juventus have a stellar record at Allianz Stadium with eight wins and one draw to date, averaging 2.44 goals scored per game and conceding a goal per match in return. La Vecchia Signora smashed Cagliari 4-0 in most recent home game.
Demiral (5 games, 1 goal), Chiellini (1/1), Khedira (12/0) and De Sciglio (6/0) are ruled out with injuries; Rodrigo Bentancur (13/0) is suspended.
Parma bounced back from humiliating defeat at Atalanta with a fine 2-0 win at Ennio Tardini over struggling Lecce, but they failed to show up against Roma (0-2) in the Coppa Italia match on Thursday.
The Gialloblu’s have won three of their last four league outings and remained 7th in the Serie A standings, one point behind free-falling Cagliari.
The Sunday’s guests have three wins, three draws and three defeats away from home, netting 1.22 goals per bout, whlist shipping 1.67. They have earned eight points from last five away fixtures (2-2-1).
Everyone bar Karamoh (5/1) are fit to face Juve.
Juventus (4-3-1-2)
Szczesny – Cuadrado, Bonucci, de Ligt, Alex Sandro – Rabiot, Pjanic, Matuidi – Ramsey – Cristiano Ronaldo, Dybala
Parma (4-3-3)
Sepe – Darmian, Iacoponi, Bruno Alves, Gagliolo – Kucka, Hernani, Kurtic – Kulusevski, Inglese, Gervinho
This game is quite similar to Lecce – Inter. I fully expect Juventus to dominate the match from start to finish and record a convincing win. With Ronaldo on fire, I’ll grab the hosts in -1.5 Asian Handicap.
When it comes to by second pick, I will go with Over 3 (Asian Total). At least three goals have been scored in last nine Binaconeri’s fixtures in all competitions and Parma have been involved in some high-scoring road games against the big dogs.
