Juventus vs Bologna
Italian Serie A
Date: 27 August 2023, Sunday
Kick-off at 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Allianz Stadium (Turin).
Out of all teams, Juventus left the best impression on the opening day of the new Serie A season.
Massimiliano Allegri’s troops stormed past Udinese with three unanswered goals in the first half to announce a much better campaign than the one they endured in the previous term of the competition.
I Bianconeri came seventh at the end of the last season. They will not feature in any European competition this time around as the team’s full focus will be on regaining the domestic throne.
Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic combined marvelously for the early two goals last weekend at Stadio Friuli, while Adrien Rabiot set the final score in the first-half stoppage time.
Juventus will hope to back up such an excellent showing on Sunday afternoon when they play the first home game of the season.
The opponent comes in the likes of Bologna who fell 0-2 to AC Milan at their Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on the opening day.
Bologna revealed defensive holes by shipping two early goals on the occasion. Their back line should be even more vulnerable against the talented and in-form Juventus’ strikeforce, led by Serbian talisman Dusan Vlahovic.
Bologna did not show much offensively against AC Milan six days ago. We doubt they will get enough space to deliver the goods away from home against the likes of Juventus. We expect Juventus to dominate the pitch from the start to the end which is why we will back the HT/FT Home win/Home win option at the 2.25 odds as the main betting pick.
Alternatively, we like Juventus to keep a clean sheet at the 1.90 odds knowing they have allowed 20 goals in the last 25 home meetings with Bologna.
