Japan had a wonderful World Cup season this time. They lost to Croatia in the knockouts, that too in penalties. Since the WC exit, the team won two, drew one and lost one. It is worth noting that they won the last two games in a row.
Meanwhile, Turkey have been playing a set of Euro Cup qualifiers of late. They won five of the last six matches across all competitions. They are also having a two-match winning streak similar to Japan.
They have met just once in the past. It was during the 2002 World Cup season and was a knockout match-up which Turkey won 0-1 ft.
Japan will enter this match following a two-match winning streak. They have scored goals at a motivating rate and such a set of victories will definitely boost their spirits.
Meanwhile, Turkey is also having a stunning form on the road. They won four of the last five road trips across all competitions.
Since they have met just once in the past, we are quite not sure about picking up a winner here. We cannot rule out the chances of a stalemate since both teams have a strong form at respective patches.
Their only head to head clash was low-scoring. On top of that two of the last three matches of Turkey were low-scoring, while Japan have recorded some high-scoring matches as they had few weak teams to face. Therefore, we don’t expect this match to have goals over 2.5 ft.
These two teams have been consistent in scoring goals at respective patches. Japan scored in the last six home matches consecutively while Turkey is on a 12-game scoring streak on the road. Thus, we expect this match to have goals from both ends.
We expect an interesting affair between these two on Tuesday. However, we are not going to back one here considering the current form of both at respective patches.
We therefore like to start with under 2.5 goals tip. While placing it as the main tip, we like to back the both teams to score option as the second.
