Jamaica vs Suriname
CONCACAF Gold Cup Group C
Date: Monday, 12 July 2021
Kick-off at 23:30 UK
Venue: Exploria Stadium (Orlando).
Jamaica’s fixtures haven’t been fruitful as they need to be in recent times. After a series of friendlies in the schedule, the Reggae Boyz will play host to Suriname on Monday in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The host is the 45th placed team in FIFA rankings as it stands.
The host has won the Caribbean cup six times in their history and has reached the second place in CONCACAF twice until now. They are in Group C this term along with Costa Rica and Guadeloupe.
Reggae Boys have lost three of their recent five fixtures in their schedule. They will come into the tournament on the back of a three-game winless run, following a 0-4 loss at home against Japan U23.
Suriname was in a decent streak in their overall schedule until their last game. The 4-0 loss on the road against Canada in the World Cup Qualifiers broke their five-game winning streak in the schedule. They are currently ranking at the 136th position in national FIFA rankings.
Jamaica has never lost to Suriname since 1996 in any major competitions. There is a good chance to see that trend continue with the host’s form at home in recent fixtures.
Furthermore, Suriname is also in decent form in their overall schedule. So, the visitor is likely to score at least a goal back in the game. Hence, the tip for BTTS will come in handy.
