Inter Milan start their preseason schedule with the clash against Saudi side Al Nassr on Thursday at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka, Japan.
The Saudi outfit will enter the tie encouraged by a goalless draw against PSG two days ago. The team led by Croatian manager Dinko Jelicic offered a great defensive display on the occasion, keeping hold of the French heavyweights on Tuesday.
This will be Al Nassr’s final preseason check before the start of the Arab Champions League. The new season in the Saudi Pro League kicks off on August 14th as Al Nassr travel to take on Al Ittifaq on the opening day.
The mentioned draw against PSG will certainly boost up the spirits inside the team’s dressing room after back-to-back tough defeats to Celta Vigo and Benfica.
The Saudi side will search for their chances to claim a big scalp on Thursday knowing this is Inter Milan’s maiden preseason exhibition which is not surprising knowing that the new Serie A campaign will not begin before August 19th.
We could see Simone Inzaghi handing a non-official debut to new striker Marcus Thuram here. It will be very interesting to see Inter Milan without some familiar names such as Romelu Lukaku, Edin Dzeko, Andre Onana, and Marcelo Brozovic.
Brozovic has just made a move to Al Nassr this summer and we will likely see him on the pitch on Thursday.
This is also Inter Milan’s maiden match since the loss to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final in June in Istanbul.
Al Nassr’s players should be in a much better and more competitive rhythm than their counterparts which is why we would not be surprised to see them causing the Italian giants troubles here.
