Both Haiti and Bermuda will be coming into their opening clash of their CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign on Sunday at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica with high hopes of kick-starting the tournament on the right note.

Neither of the teams have come even close to challenging the cup in previous years but will certainly be keen on progressing past the group stage and testing their strengths against much more competitive sides in the cup.

Haiti will be heading into the clash after suffering a narrow defeat to Chile on the road while Bermuda will be looking to extent their two-game winning streak on Sunday.

Despite Haiti losing both of their recent matches, it has to be said that they are posed as the likely side to come out on top in the clash. Bermuda’s away form has not been the most thrilling, managing just two wins in their last five outings.

The opening match for Haiti and Bermuda is most likely to swing in favour of the Haiti side on Sunday. The Bermuda side have not been able to keep a consistent winning form on the road and are most likely to crack under Haiti’s pressure, anytime in the ninety minutes.

Haiti have managed only two wins in their last five matches, but it needs to be mentioned that the defeats were handed to them by much more experienced teams such El Salvador and Chile.

Apart from those two losses, Haiti have actually been putting on a very solid run of form.

Despite Bermuda managing to win four out of their last five matches, they are likely to be handed a defeat by the Haiti side.

The match will certainly see at least one or two goals down each lane, with the win ultimately going in favour of Haiti.
