Germany vs France
UEFA Nations League
Date: Thursday, 6 September 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich.
UEFA Nations League is about to begin in some style on Thursday evening with the clash between the current and the former World Cup champions.
Les Bleus, whose shining performances guided them to the crown this summer in Russia, will kick off UEFA’s new competition with a tough trip to Munich where they’ll take on Germany in a mouth-watering clash of the titans.
The head coach Didier Deschamps practically made no changes to the squad that won the World Cup. He called up the same 23 players with the exception of Steve Mandanda. The Marseille keeper who gave his place to Bordeaux’s Benoit Costil. However, this change is insignificant being only the third-choice keeper.
Joachim Low, on the other side, gave three new call-ups as the likes of Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen), Nico Schulz (Hoffenheim) and Timo Kehrer (PSG) could make their debuts for the national team on Thursday against France.
Nils Petersen and Leroy Sane are back with the team after skipping the World Cup, while stars such as Neuer, ter Stegen, Boateng, Kimmich, Hummels, Draxler, Kroos, Muller, Reus and Werner should also all feature.
The two sides played each other in a friendly in mid-November last year when Lars Stindl helped Die Mannschaft avoid a defeat bagging the stoppage-time equalizer to make it 2-2 at RheinEnergieStadion in Koln.
Germans will be the more motivated side to get off to a victorious start to the UEFA Nations League campaign following their shocking group stage elimination in Russia. They won just one of three games there, losing the final fixture against Korea Republic who have already been eliminated.
However, the momentum is entirely on France’s side and we just can’t ignore the 1.55 odds offered for the visitors not to lose here.
This French team has much more talent than German’s and we expect the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba to guide their side to the victory against the struggling opposition. Braver punters can try with the away offered at a good price by most of the bookies.
France or Draw Double Chance @ 6/11 (1.55)
France to win @ 13/7 (2.85).
