Spain return to their EURO qualifying campaign after claiming the UEFA Nations League trophy in June.
La Furia Roja defeated Italy and Croatia on the way to the title in the final-four tournament, showing fantastic defensive displays along the way.
Luis de la Fuente’s men will now travel to Tbilisi to take on Georgia in an important 2024 EURO qualifier.
Spain have played just two games so far in the campaign, taking just three points in the process. Their previous qualifier was a 2-0 defeat to Scotland on the road in March.
Georgia currently hold the second place in Group A with four points from three games. They have suffered a big setback with a 2-0 defeat in Scotland in June.
It was a match in which Willy Sagnol’s men did not offer much in the final third, failing to register a single shot on target in the 90 minutes of play.
Knowing that Spain have also kept their net untouched in three of the last five games, a streak that includes a goalless draw to Morocco in the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, we have reasons to expect the Georgians to struggle in the final third once again.
Spain did not allow many chances against Italy and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League final-four tournament in June. They are now up against Georgian attacking line which failed to register a shot on target in the away game against Scotland in the previous qualifier.
