Georgia vs Denmark
EURO Qualification
Date: Sunday, 8 September 2019
Kick-off at 17:00 UK / 18:00 CET
Venue: Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena (Tbilisi).
Georgia’s chances of making it past the qualifiers have become even bleaker still with the home team losing by a mammoth 5-1 scoreline against this very same opponent in their most recent matchup.
Although they did make the trip to Copenhagen on the back of a 3-0 win over Gibraltar, the squad hardly made an impact against the Danish outfit and managed just ten attempts at goal, eight of which were not even on target.
On the other hand, Denmark were in the driving seat right from the first whistle and finished the clash with thrice as many shots as their foes as well. The visitors are certainly one of the front runners to make it into the next round and are currently a point clear of Switzerland in the second position.
Considering that the away side have not yet stumbled in any of their clashes so far either, even home advantage is not going being to enough to save Georgia from being at the losing end in this one.
For starters, the away side are a much more competitive and experienced side on the global stage as opposed to their counterparts, who have tasted success just once in their last four games.
Apart from being without a win, it needs saying that Georgia have lost without even getting their names on the scoresheet twice from those matches as well.
The guests have been reiterating their superiority in their respective clashes and have racked up nine goals to their names, half of which came from their last clash with the hosts.
Taking into account that Georgia have never got the better of this opponent in any of their prior meetings either, it goes without saying that Denmark are the hands-down favorites to come away with all three points.
Age Hareide’s men have not been shy in racking up the goals tally all on their own. Two of the last three games for Denmark have seen them score three goals or more by the end of the ninety minutes.
Considering that their previous clashes with Georgia have also been high scoring ones, there is certainly every reason to believe that there will be over 2.5 goals on the scorecards at the last blast of the whistle.
