Steffen Schmidt - February 21, 2022
Fulham vs Peterborough
English Championship
Date: 23 February 2022, Wednesday
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Craven Cottage (London).
Fulham host Peterborough in what should be one of the most one-sided contests in the season. These two outfits have been in completely different spheres in this term of Championship and we could possibly have two divisions separating them this time next year.
The Cottagers confidently march towards the Premier League promotion. They are currently as many as ten points above third-placed Blackburn Rovers with two matches in hand on the Riversiders.
Marco Silva’s men will have a fantastic chance to increase this gap on Wednesday night when they play host to relegation strugglers Peterborough in Matchday 34.
Fulham will come into the game on the back of six wins and a draw in the lasts seven league fixtures.
They have tightened things up defensively of late, keeping back-to-back clean sheets in the wins over Millwall and Hull City.
The Cottagers will fancy their chances of another clean sheet here against Peterborough who have scored only 8 goals in 15 away matches in this term of Championship.
The Posh generally have the worst record on travels in the whole division with 1 win, 1 draw, and 13 defeats in 15 outings on the road.
It is thus very hard to find any positives or reasons for optimism for Darren Ferguson and his troops ahead of the toughest place to visit in this competition.
The difference in quality between these two teams is enormous and we can’t predict anything else but a comprehensive clean-sheet victory for the hosts here.
Fulham won six and drew one of the last seven Championship affairs, while their counterparts have lost 13 of 15 away matches this term with a horrendous goal difference of 8-42 in the process.
Fulham to win to nil is paid at the attractive 2.10 odds, while you can back the hosts to win by two or more goals difference at the odds of 2.00.
