Fram vs Breidablik

Breidablik managed a huge result in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round on Tuesday night, beating Shamrock Rovers 0-1 on the road.
It was another stunning display in Europe from Oskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson’s troops who had earlier demolished both Tre Penne and Buducnost Podgorica in the preliminary round.
Breidablik obviously have big dreams in Europe and there are no doubts manager Thorvaldsson will give rest to some of his key players ahead of the second leg against Shamrock next Tuesday.
This is why we can expect a mixed lineup for the defending Besta deildin champions on Friday night when they visit the capital city for the clash against bottom-half side Fram at Framvollur.
Breidablik will hardly defend their domestic title, currently sitting third in the league table with eleven points between them and leaders Vikingur Reykjavik, on whom the champs have a game in hand.
Fram, on the other side, are third from bottom with just 4 wins in 14 games this term. Nevertheless, each of these four wins have come at Framvollur where Jon Thorir Sveinsson’s men have been fantastic so far in the campaign.
The main problem for Sveinsson, though, is the fact that Fram own one of the weakest defensive records in the whole league with 33 goals shipped in 14 matches.
This is not the kind of record you want to carry into the clash against one of the deadliest attacking lines in the country.
This match has goals in it. Breidablik are big favorites but they are amid their Champions League double-header with Shamrock Rovers and Fram have played much better football at home than on the road so far in the season.
