Feronikeli vs TNS
Champions League Qualification
Date: Tuesday, 16 July 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Fadil Vokrri Stadium (Pristina).
Two high-flying squads contest once again to script episode two of their fierce clash, for a spot in the next round of the CL qualifiers. As expected, their first leg went along with both sides finding the back of the net.
With both teams topping their respective leagues, and netting goals easily, it was a foregone conclusion how the game would turn out to be.
But a deeper look will tell that despite the 2-2 scoreline, the real winner was Feronikeli. The Saints were leading 2-0 at home, till the 89th minute, before the visitors recorded two goals right at the end of the fixture to tip the scales in their favor.
Scoring goals come easily to both these teams. They both took their respective league titles in style, with a sizeable lead, and in the process scored the most number of goals too. Moreover, the hosts of the day are unbeaten in their last 12 ties, of which 11 were wins. Their counterparts are invincible in their last 26 fixtures, and 20 of their last 22 were wins.
As such, count on goals coming at either end of the pitch. But, with the home advantage, and the confidence of coming back into the tie right at the end of regulation time, and that too on the road, Feronikeli holds the upper hand. Rightfully, they should avoid the loss at any cost. Moreover, they do have two away goals and have the luxury to sit back and defend, while their opponents have no option but to attack.
