Fenerbahce vs Besiktas

Venue: Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi (Istanbul).
Tension will be high in and around Sukru Saracoglu Stadyumu on Sunday evening as bitter Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce and Besiktas take on each other in the 27th round of Super Lig.
Both teams have done well of late and we have all reasons to expect a spectacular affair packed with goals and beautiful moves on both ends of the pitch.
Fenerbahce started the year with a terrible 0-4 defeat to Galatasaray in another Istanbul derby on January 8th.
However, they have bounced back by going on a streak of seven wins and a draw in eight league outings since then.
This series of results has brought Jorge Jesus’ men to the battle for the title. Fenerbahce have cut the gap behind leaders Galatasaray to six points before the international break. The race is on if we know Jesus’ troops also have a game in hand on the city rivals at the top of the table.
Nevertheless, Fenerbahce will face a very tough challenge here in the clash against Besiktas who will enter the tie on the back of three successive wins.
The visitors have scored seven goals in the process, including three in the previous round’s victory over Istanbulspor.
Both Cenk Tosun and Vincent Aboubakar were on target for Senol Gunes’ squad on the occasion. It will be very interesting to see whether this in-form Besiktas will have what it takes to cause Fenerbahce problems on Sunday.
Both Fenerbahce and Besiktas possess incredible firepower on display in the final third and we just have to expect goals when they come across each other.
