Two teams going through contrasting fortunes take on each other. Maybe ‘take on’ is not the right phrase. Feirense is more like being dragged to the arena. They have had enough, and any more of this misery is clearly cruelty.
The team is at the bottom-most of league standings and is eight points away from any semblance of safety. They are, without doubt, the top favorite to get the boot to the lower division come this summer.
Moreirense is just a spot below that allows entry into the Europa League. But seven points lie in front of them before they can make a pass at the coveted position. It’s gearing up to be one more tough night for the home fans. In all probability, a loss is on the cards for them.
As mentioned earlier, the visitors are in a desperate chase behind Sporting and needs as many points as well as goals. A fixture against Feirense is a great opportunity for them to go after these both with comparative ease. Count on them to make the occasion matter, and get on top of things early itself. Expect an early goal in the tie.
