FC Dallas vs Charlotte

Neither FC Dallas not Charlotte have been pulling up any trees in recent MLS matches as the two teams are about to lock horns at the start of the 2023 Leagues Cup campaign.
FC Dallas confounded their push for the Western Conference playoffs by claiming just one point in the previous three league games.
It came on Saturday evening when the team led by Spanish coach Nico Estevez held Seattle Sounders to a 1-1 stalemate on the road.
Estevez can’t be happy with his side’s recent attacking displays in the absence of striker Jesus Ferreira.
FC Dallas hardly even got in chances to score in the last several weeks. They did find the net last weekend at Seattle but we can consider it a lucky goal and a lucky draw knowing the team only managed to register three attempts in total over the 90 minutes of play.
That said, the hosts should have more room to deliver the goods this time around. They are now up against the worst defensive line in the entire MLS.
No other team in the league have conceded more than Charlotte’s 40 goals this term. The visitors are also winless in eight consecutive games and they’ll go into this off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Montreal six days ago.
They are fourth from bottom in the Eastern Conference standings at the moment, sitting four points behind D.C. United in the play-in spot.
Dallas do have two wins in the last three home matches in the MLS and there is merit in backing them to beat the struggling rivals at the even odds. Knowing how poor Charlotte have been defensively of late, we have to take the home win pick here.
Alternatively, we will take the same odds for the Over 2.5 goals FT bet knowing the visitors play extremely attacking football under Italian manager Christian Lattanzio this season.
