Faizkand is one of the three newly-promoted sides to the top tier of Tajikistan. The team based in Vose started off the season with a draw against Lokomotiv Pamir away from home. After scoring early in the second half they conceded twice within 20 minutes. A goal from Zaripov helped them grab a point from that close game which ended with a score of 2-2.
The visitors finished third in the last league season. They were 21 points behind the current champs Istiqlol at the end of 21 matches. The last time they won the league title was back in 2008. In their season opener they picked up a point against Kuktosh, both teams not scoring.
If the last season is anything to go by, we can expect the visitors to come on top. They are on a 6 match unbeaten run and are on an active 3 game drawing streak. They have kept a clean sheet in all 3 of those most recent matches and we can expect the same on Saturday too. Also, they have a 3 match unbeaten run on matches away from home. Their last away defeat came against Khujand in September last year.
Even though being newcomers the hosts played without fear in their opening game. But I don’t see them spoiling the day for a strong team like Regar. So I am backing the away side to get a narrow win this weekend. Also, I believe we will be seeing a game with only one side in the score sheet.
