The Three Lions are another title contender for the upcoming Euros, and are eager to cash in on their golden generation of players. Against the recently-struggling Austria, over whom they have a good h2h record, England are easily the favorites.
Gareth Southgate’s men are ranked fourth in the world, and staying true to this, they had finished fourth in the 2018 World Cup. After being defeated in the semis, the team lost to Belgium in the Third-Place match.
Going on, they had qualified to the upcoming Euros with a first-place finish in the Qualifiers, in Group A. Of the total eight games, they had recorded seven wins, and had a combined scorecard of 37-6, in the process.
Note that they are on a long winning run at the moment, and are scoring goals at will. Especially at home, the team has been on a blistering streak, and most importantly, they have a good h2h record against this rival over the past several decades.
Meanwhile, Austria are placed in League B in the UNL, whereas their counterparts are part of the top-most League A. Moreover, Austria are also going through a dismal run at the moment, and had conceded a total of four goals in their latest game.
By the looks of things, expect an England win this Wednesday at the Riverside Stadium.
Southgate’s men are on a four-game winning run, and had scored a total of 13 goals in the process. They were also unbeaten in 23 of their past 26 overall match-ups, and at home they had won 13 of their past 14 appearances.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in three of their last four overall matches, and most importantly, they are yet to win an h2h encounter in the past six decades.
Taking into account these stats, and especially the determination of the Three Lions to deliver a title – expect an England win this Wednesday.
