Egypt vs Colombia
International Friendly
Date: Friday, 1st June 2018
Kick-Off at 20:15 UK
Venue: Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia (Bergamo).
Egypt have struggled for consistency and have seen a three-game winless streak since the World Cup Qualifiers, beaten by both Portugal and Greece in March and held to a 1-1 draw by Kuwait without Mohamed Salah. They meet Colombia at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia on Friday evening as one of their last test games ahead of the final tournament in Russia and desperately need a pick-me-up.
Colombia have, on the other hand, timed their form better and come into the match on the back of a three-game unbeaten streak, where they beat China (0-4), France (2-3), and held Australia to a goalless draw. Jose Pekerman’s men have been more unpredictable beforehand and now very much need a positive result in Bergamo too.
Los Cafeteros have been scoring more goals lately and although they come into the match on the back of a goalless draw, we do expect them in good spirits up front on the day. With that in mind, we hope for a high-scoring contest with goals on both ends.
We will now back Colombia to capitalize on Egypt woes and them missing Mohamed Salah on the day, backing Los Cafeteros at 1.60. With their current spell of form, they should be able to outclass the African rivals and bag a win in Italy, which has been rated banker material by many in the know already.
Colombia have been regularly scoring and conceding goals so we do feel Egypt will get on the score sheet too, as we go for a YES on Both teams to score at 2.23. We have seen them score goals on the regular and Salah was not the only one to impress, which could be more worrying for Colombia’s back line.
