Dynamo Dresden vs Duisburg
Germany – 2.Bundesliga
Date: Monday, 6th August 2018
Kick-off at 19:30 UK/ 20:30 CET
Venue: Dresden Stadium.
Dynamo Dresden escaped relegation by a whisker last season and they start the 2018/19 campaign on fresh hopes against MSV Duisburg, a team that had a positive season.
Dresden had seen mixed runs since getting promoted to the 2.Bundesliga two seasons ago. They finished 5th in the 2016/17, but they couldn’t replicate that success last time and finished 15th in the table and escaped drop by 1 point.
On the other hand, Duisburg were one of the two prompted sides of last season and they cannot complain how it went. They ended up at 7th on the log, 8 points behind play-off zone.
The team managed by Iliya Gruev have a platform to push for promotion this term, however they must be cautious enough to avoid a fate like that of their matchday 1 host.
Teams start the new season with fresh hopes on Monday and this is a match that either sides want to win.
Dresden knows that they are favorites, mainly because of the home advantage and positive h2h result at this venue.
However, I am afraid Uwe Neuhaus have not found a solution to the team’s defensive woes.
Iliya Gruev on the opposite bench will be in a positive mood following two impressive warm-up games. They drew the La Liga side Bilbao 1-1 before holding Fiorentina to a goal-less draw.
Duisburg conceded just 1 goal during pre-season, so they are definitely going to give the hosts the run for their money.
Under 2.5 goals at 1.87
Double Chance – Draw or away win at 1.71.
