Aron Wright - March 8, 2021
Borussia Dortmund vs Sevilla
Champions League
Date: Tuesday, 9 March 2021
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Signal Iduna Park.
After a terrific start to their season, Los Palanganas seem to be dropping form right when it most matters. They are conceding goals in plenty lately, and are losing match after match.
They also lost the first leg of this tie at home, and in the process conceded three away goals as well.
Now, not only do they have to try to overturn this deficit, but they would have to do it at the Signal Iduna Park, against the in-form Der BVB.
Note that Edin Terzic’s men are flourishing at the moment, especially in terms of their offense.
Led the lanky Norwegian Erling Haaland, the team has been doing wonders in the past few game weeks.
Judging the current form of either squad, and the result of the first leg, expect Borussia Dortmund to have the edge this Tuesday.
Terzic’s men recorded a 2-3 win on the road in the reverse match-up. The Spanish squad had opened the scoring, but the guests replied with three unanswered goals – two coming from Haaland.
As of now, Der BVB had won four of their past five overall fixtures, and had scored a total of 15 goals from these five games. Also, their sole defeat during this stretch had come against Bayern Munich.
Going on, they are on a six-match unbeaten run at home, and they had scored a total of 14 goals in the process.
On the other hand, their counterparts had lost four of their last five fixtures, and they had conceded a total of ten goals in the process.
Moreover, they will have to concentrate on offense right from the get-go, as they have to score two unanswered goals to have any shot of progressing to the next round.
The in-form offense of the hosts will make light work of this situation, and are easily the favorites this Tuesday.
