Deportivo Alaves held on to a 1-1 stalemate in the first leg of their Segunda Division playoffs semifinal tie against Eibar five days ago at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua.
Los Babazorros got an early breakthrough from striker Mamadou Sylla but Eibar have controlled the happenings on the pitch ever since.
Los Armeros got their equalizer just in time through star man Stoickhov. They were a much better team in the second half as well (despite having their left-back Anaitz Arbilla sent off 17 minutes from time) but failed to capitalize on the occasion.
Eibar will now face a very difficult task on Thursday night when they visit Estadio de Mendizorroza for the second leg.
Alaves have been phenomenal this season in Vitoria-Gazteiz where they lost only 1 of 21 matches in the season.
Also, Los Babazorros have lost just one of the previous eleven league outings. They have shipped one or fewer goals in 14 of the last 15 league matches.
Eibar, on the other side, go into this on the back of only one win in the previous eleven Segunda Division outings.
They have also been playing tight, defensive-minded football recently as only a single of the last seven matches they played provided three or more goals.
Alaves have a great opportunity to advance to the playoffs final with a victory in front of the home fans. They have a fantastic home record in this term of Segunda Division and they will go into this tie in higher spirits knowing their rivals have won just one of the last eleven league outings.
The home win is worth backing at the 2.25 odds while we will alternatively back Under 0.5 goals in the first half at the 2.20 odds, expecting the visitors to sit tight at the back and park the bus in the opening stages of the affair.
