Steffen Schmidt - March 23, 2023
DC United vs New England
USA Major League Soccer
Date: 25 March 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 23:30 UK / 23:30 CET
Venue: Audi Field (Washington).
New England Revolution successfully rebounded from a demolishing 4-0 loss at the hands of the reigning champions Los Angeles FC last weekend when they saw off Nashville SC 1-0 at home.
Gustavo Bou made the difference for the Revs in what was a tight affair between two strong defensive units on the occasion.
The Revolution now have three wins in the opening four games of the new season and they hold the second position in the Eastern Conference standings.
Head coach Bruce Arena can be particularly pleased with his team’s defensive showings as New England kept three clean sheets in four league games this term.
It will be very interesting to see whether the Revs will be able to maintain such a fine spell of form and keep things quiet at the back on Saturday evening in the road clash against DC United.
DC have shown opposite faces at home and on the road so far in the season. They have picked up all four points from two league fixtures at Audi Field this term, scoring four goals in the process.
The lack of defensive meticulousness has, however, been the main issue for head coach Wayne Rooney and his troops because DC United allowed two or more goals in three of four outings so far in the season.
DC United play attacking-minded football under Rooney but they leave plenty of space behind. The Revolution have a genuine predator up front in the like of Gustavo Bou who was on target last weekend in the win over Nashville.
We’ll take the 2.90 odds offered for the away win pick, while you can also take the 2.62 odds for Bou to score anytime for the visitors on Saturday.
