Cuiaba host Sao Paulo in one of the most exciting matches of Gameweek No 16 in Brazilian Serie A on Saturday evening at Arena Pantanal.
Both teams head into the game on a high, meaning we are in for a tremendous night of football.
Cuiaba are in their best form of the season with two wins and a draw in the previous three outings.
They stunned Fortaleza 0-1 on the road last weekend to extend the positive series of results. Head coach Antonio Oliveira can be particularly satisfied with his team’s defensive showings of late because Cuiaba allowed just one goal in the last three league matches.
It is also worth noting that all but one of the last ten matches Cuiaba played ended with fewer than three goals scored which says enough about the team’s playing style under this Portuguese manager.
Keeping things quiet at the back will be a big challenge for the hosts on Saturday, though, given they are up against the fourth-placed Sao Paulo.
The visitors are flying high these days with a run of five wins and a draw in the last six matches. They have eliminated bitter city rivals Palmeiras in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinal via two separate wins in the process.
Sao Paulo stormed past Santos 4-1 last weekend in the previous round with a brace from their top scorer Jonathan Calleri on the occasion.
Cuiaba have been in great rhythm of late but Sao Paulo look unstoppable these days and we see the value in backing the away win pick at the odds of 2.62.
