Steffen Schmidt - March 30, 2023
Crystal Palace vs Leicester
English Premier League
Date: 1 April 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Selhurst Park (London).
Neither Crystal Palace nor Leicester have been pulling up any trees going into their head to head encounter on Saturday afternoon at Selhurst Park.
The Glaziers continued their dreadful spell of form two weeks ago when they suffered a demolishing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
It was the fourth consecutive defeat for Crystal Palace who are also winless in 13 straight outings across competitions.
They have joined the relegation scrap as a consequence, sitting only two points above their Saturday rivals who are one place above the danger zone.
The team’s board reacted to such a horrendous series of results and performance for the Glaziers by appointing Roy Hodgson as the new head coach. Hodgson will make his debut on Saturday against Leicester.
The visitors brought themselves to the brink of the danger area with a streak of horrendous results and wobbly performances.
The Foxes had been on a five-loss run across competitions before holding Brentford to a 1-1 draw away at Gtech Community Stadium in the previous round.
Can Brendan Rodgers find a way to take his team to safe waters? Efficiency has been a problem of late because Leicester have not scored two or more goals in any of the last six games in all competitions.
All but one of the last eight games Crystal Palace played in all competitions ended with fewer than three goals scored. Leicester have been by no means impressive in the final third in their recent outings.
The Under 2.5 goals FT looks like a decent betting option at the 1.72 odds, especially knowing the reverse fixture offered no goals at all. In terms of the outcome, we will go for the new-manager bounce and back Crystal Palace to win at the 2.50 odds.
