Peter Green - July 29, 2019
FC Copenhagen vs TNS
Champions League Qualification
Date: Wednesday, 31 July 2019
Kick-off at 18:45 UK/ 19:45 CET
Venue: Telia Parken (Copenhagen).
The visiting Danish side completely outplayed TNS at their home the last day. Not only did their home advantage fail to procure the former a goal, but they had to deal with their defence being broken twice too. At this point, Copenhagen already has a foot in the next round.
They are an in-form squad and is taking on a team that takes part in a much inferior league. The huge disparity in experience was on full display during the first leg. It’s expected to make an impact in this game too.
The team from Denmark is on a four-game winning streak and scored twice or more in their last four matches while keeping clean sheets in the last two. At home, they were unbeaten in 17 of their last 20 and registered two or more goals in 15 of their last 17.
Going on, they had also scored three or more goals in three of their last six home ties and kept clean sheets in four of their last seven.
Importantly, they already lead in aggregate by a scoreline of 2-0, and both these goals have the away status. It amounts to, TNS having to score at least three against a much stronger squad, on the road, without conceding even once.
Suffice it to say, this is turning out to be a walk in the park for the hosts of the day.
