Copenhagen’s dominance in the top flight of the Danish football came to an end last season when Stale Solbakken’s troops shockingly ended the campaign at the fourth position in the league ladder.
The new season is about to kick off this weekend and the Lions will be looking for the victorious start on Monday afternoon when Horsens come to visit Telia Parken.
The visitors accomplished the main goal in the previous term as they successfully fought their way to earn the top-six finish at the end of the regular season.
Horsens will, however, enter the new campaign with significantly lower ambitions after selling some of their key players from the last season.
Both Kjartan Funnbogason and Ayo Okosun left the team this summer. The head coach Bo Henriksen will clearly need some time to bed in the new arrivals if we are to judge by the slow form shown in pre-season friendlies.
Horsens were fairly easy to break down in recent tests which saw them conceded four goals to Vendsyssel and two more two Esbjerg. It will be the music to the eras of Copenhagen strikers who will be looking to boost the confidence with an inspiring performance on the opening day.
The Lions notched five goals in wins over CSKA Moscow (1-4 in a friendly) and KuPS (0-1 in Europa League) and they head into this as massive favourites to continue the dominance in the H2H tie with Horsens.
We’ll go with Copenhagen to win by two or more goals as the main betting prediction at the odds of 1.90, while you can also back the hosts to have the lead at the half time and win the match at the end at 1.80.
