FC Cincinnati finally enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in MLS after ending each of their first three seasons at the very foot of the standings.
The Orange and Blue came sky-high fifth in the Eastern Conference standings last time out, making their maiden MLS Cup playoffs appearance in the team’s short history.
Head coach Pat Noonan has done miracles with this team last season and we have reasons to expect another exciting campaign from his troops in 2023.
The attacking line with the likes of Brandon Vazquez and Brenner is capable of scoring against any team in the league without too many problems.
FC Cincinnati will start the 2023 campaign with an easy home fixture (at least on paper) against Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening at TQL Stadium.
Houston had an underwhelming campaign in the previous term of MLS, coming second from bottom in the Western Conference table with 18 losses in 34 outings.
They have not reached the playoffs since 2017 and there is not much to suggest a better scenario for Ben Olsen and his troops in a crowded Western Conference ahead of this season either.
On a slightly positive note, Houston Dynamo enjoyed a decent campaign in the preseason, going unbeaten in all five of their exhibitions. The run includes a 2-0 win over Dallas seven days ago.
Houston Dynamo had a much more productive preseason schedule but FC Cincinnati have the quality on their side. We can’t wait to see Brandon Vazquez, Yuya Kubo, Bremmer, and Dominique Badji in action as the home win seems to be the only way to go here.
