Peter Green - July 22, 2019
Celtic vs Nomme Kalju
Champions League Qualification
Date: Wednesday, 24 July 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Celtic Park (Glasgow).
Nomme had been the top dog in Estonia the last year but failed to keep up their reputation this time around. At present, they are in the fourth position in league standings and lag by 12 points behind the topper.
To add insult to injury, the team is on the road against absolute beasts Celtic, the Scottish heroes. As expected, the hosts of the day had reigned supreme in Scotland, and not even gave the likes of tough competitors, Rangers, a shot at the pole position.
They are now here in the continental championship, to extend that dominance.
Celtic was unbeaten in 20 of their last 21 matches, and scored two or more goals in seven of their last ten games. At home, they went without a loss in 19 of their last 20 attempts, and at one point, had won 12 of their 13 fixtures.
Their counterparts cannot make any claim to confirm their form. They were winless in four of their last five ties and failed to score in two of those match-ups too. On the road, they were winless in nine of their last fifteen away from home, and could only find the back of the net in seven of their last eleven.
They also had a four-match losing run in this stretch.
Going on, Celtic has had a wonderful defense giving them service, and almost conceded goals at a rate of just 0.5 per game in the league, which led them to record an impressive goal difference of 57 by the end of the campaign.
As such, expect an easy win for the home team.
