Celtic are on a revenge season, as they were toppled from their throne the last season by arch-rivals Rangers in the Scottish top flight. They are surely going after a win this Tuesday at home in the first leg, against the struggling Midtjylland.
Celtic were on a run of nine consecutive title-winning campaigns, before Rangers replaced them as the champions. It’s a rare occasion when a team is able to go for a decade-long run of dominance, and the team is surely annoyed that they were denied the chance.
The team will concentrate hugely on offense, which used to be their trump card. And they will find confidence in the fact that their guests for the day are not in the best of forms.
In fact, Midtjylland have been conceding goals in huge numbers, and especially so on the road. Moreover, they are also from a far inferior league, compared to their counterparts.
As such, expect Celtic to emerge victorious at their home.
Celtic were unbeaten in 27 of their past 33 overall fixtures, and they had remained so in 16 of their preceding 18 appearances at home. Note that they had also scored a total of 13 goals from their last four home games.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in eight of their last thirteen overall fixtures, and they had remained so in eight of their former eleven road trips. Note that they had also conceded three or more goals in five of their past eight away matches.
As such, expect a win for Celtic this Tuesday. However, their defense has not been that great lately, while Midtjylland will be desperate to put an end to their troubles as well. As such, count on the visitors to find the back of the net at least once.
