Steffen Schmidt - January 28, 2022
Cardiff vs Nottingham Forest
English Championship
Date: 30 January 2022, Sunday
Kick-off at 16:00 UK / 17:00 CET
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium (Cardiff).
Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest will close the Matchday No 29 in English second tier on Sunday afternoon when they take on each other on Welsh soil.
The teams will enter the affair in a completely opposite mood and chasing the entire opposite goals.
The hosts have not been pulling up any trees of late and have thus complicated their situation in the bottom half of the standings.
The Bluebirds lost four and drew two of the last six matches in the league. They fell to 20th position in the table as a consequence and are now only three points above the red zone.
The most recent of failures came last Saturday when Cardiff City conceded three goals in the away loss at fellow bottom-half side Bristol City.
Steve Morison’s men have one of the worst home records in the league. They lost nine of the last ten Championship outings on the home patch.
There is nothing to suggest the end of such a dreadful streak for the hosts here on Sunday when they take on in-form Nottingham Forest.
The visitors are only one point shy of the promotional playoffs after a thread of three consecutive wins in the league.
Their latest victims were Barnsley who left The City Ground with a 3-0 defeat on Tuesday evening.
Nottingham Forest go into this on the back of four consecutive wins across competitions. They have conceded just one goal in the process which is super-impressive if we know the run includes the 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup.
The away win thus has to be the way to go and you can back it at the 2.62 odds. Nottingham Forest’s clean sheet is paid at the odds of 3.00.
