Caen vs Montpellier
France – Ligue 1
Date: Wednesday, 26th September 2018
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Stade Michel d’Ornano (Caen).
Caen are in 17th place and have just 1 win this season as they return back home after losing last weekend away to Saint Etienne. It’s been a slow start for the club who have drawn 50% of their games.
At Stade Michel d’Ornano Caen remain undefeated but they have drawn both of their games. Although these results were seen as impressive after they came against Nice which ended 1-1 and the Lyon which finished 2-2 although Caen had two players sent off in that eventful game.
Montpellier have had a positive start to the league although it didn’t look like it would happen after they lost their first game of the season. Since then they have remained undefeated for five weeks and are in 3rd position. They beat Nice at the weekend in a narrow 1-0 win and away from home they are undefeated after beating Nice and Reims.
Montpellier have been very impressive this season without being one of the better teams to watch. They have worked very well on their defence and we can see them getting a win in this game.
Also, the hosts are a team on form who have a good away record so far. Perhaps they can also keep a clean sheet. We do not expect to see many goals and will opt for a draw at the halftime stage.
Watch out for Gaetan Laborde, forward for Montpellier who is in good form and scored at the weekend. We will pick him to do so again.
