Steffen Schmidt - August 31, 2023
Brentford vs Bournemouth
English Premier League
Date: 2 September 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Gtech Community Stadium (Brentford).
Brentford dropped two points by conceding a late equalizer seven days ago at home against Crystal Palace.
They are still unbeaten going into the fourth round clash against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon at Gtech Community Stadium, though.
Nevertheless, the performance the Bees have shown last weekend against Palace was below par, especially in the final third as Kevin Schade’s early goal represented the team’s only shot on target in the 90 minutes of play.
It was by far the weakest attacking display Thomas Frank’s men have produced so far in the season. Luckily for their fans, the home clash against Bournemouth is an ideal opportunity for an immediate response.
The visitors go into this off the back of successive defeats. They have shipped five goals in the losses to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, revealing plenty of space at the back along the way.
We must say the schedule did not quite work in the Cherries’ favor at the very start of the season and the next four outings will hardly make things any better with the fixtures against Brentford, Chelsea, Brighton, and Arsenal upcoming.
Bournemouth will continue their tough schedule this weekend and it is very hard to stay optimistic regarding their chances of getting something from Gtech Community Stadium.
The home win will be our primary betting option at the odds of 1.66 while we will alternatively back Brentford to bag two or more goals at the same price-tag.
