Breda vs Ajax
Netherlands – Eredivisie
Date: Saturday, 24 November 2018
Kick-off at 17.30 UK/ 18.30 CET
Venue: Rat Verlegh Stadion (Breda).
The weakest team in the league, Breda, hosts one of the strongest, Ajax, at the Rat Verlegh, to open the 13th round of the Dutch Eredivisie, this Saturday.
Breda suffered an away defeat against Emmen last weekend. The result was kind of expected. Not much of a surprise there. Emmen is a team sitting comfortably in the mid-table, while, as earlier mentioned, Breda is quite possibly the worst in the competition. Cavlan was the top performer for the hosts with a goal as well as an assist.
Ajax, despite being on the road, made a meal of their match at Excelsior’s home. They scored seven goals past the hapless home defense. Ajax is slowly returning to their old stature in Netherlands, not in Europe though. It’s always a joy to the football fans to witness an old powerhouse trying to get back its lost glory. The famed Ajax – who produced one of the best minds in football, yet, Johan Crujiff.
The visitors have this match in the bag. They won’t probably shed a drop of sweat in grabbing the three available points. Ajax has been the best team in the Eredivisie so far, bar PSV.
At home, on the road – nothing matters to this juggernaut of a team. Whatever comes in front of them, will be surely decimated. Last weekend, on the road, Ajax won the game with a scoreline of 1-7. The fact becomes more worrying when it comes to light that several of the key players were benched for the tie.
Breda is the worst team in the Dutch Eredivisie this season. They are a sure-shot contender for relegation, come the end of the season.
Breda has conceded the most goals at this point in the league season, 27, while Ajax has conceded the least, 5.
