Steffen Schmidt - August 24, 2023
Bournemouth vs Tottenham
English Premier League
Date: 26 August 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 12:30 UK / 13:30 CET
Venue: Vitality Stadium (Bournemouth).
Ange Postecoglou can be pleased with the start to his reign in North London as the former Celtic boss has taken four points from the opening two games of the Premier League at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur.
This return is a decent one when you take two complicated fixtures against Brentford and Manchester United into consideration.
The Australian manager has immediately instilled the attacking-minded and possession-based style into Spurs’ players who responded by putting two goals past Brentford and Man United each.
The Spurs will now look to continue their unbeaten record on Saturday afternoon when they travel south to take on Bournemouth in the first game of the day at Vitality Stadium.
Beating Bournemouth in Dorset is a tough task to ask for pretty much any team in the league. That said, the Cherries have managed only a single point in the inaugural two rounds of the season.
They drew 1-1 at home to West Ham on the opening day before falling 3-1 to ten-man Liverpool last weekend despite grabbing a shocking early advantage through Antoine Semenyo at Anfield.
Bournemouth also play nice attacking football under new coach Andoni Iraola (after they inexplicably sacked Gary O’Neil this summer) and we might see an open game with plenty of opportunities at both ends on Saturday.
This is an ideal game for the BTTS & Win market. Tottenham look great under Postecoglou and we see them as the favorites even without James Maddison in the squad (the former Leicester man is questionable ahead of the tie after picking up a knock seven days ago against United).
The main pick is Tottenham to win & Both Teams To Score at the 3.40 odds while we will alternatively shoot for the Over 3.5 goals FT bet at the 2.37 odds.
