Dundalk continued their marvelous spell of form seven days ago when they dispatched reigning champions and current leaders Shamrock Rovers 2-0 at Oriel Park.
It was yet another stunning defensive showing from Stephen O’Donnell’s troops who limited the best team in the division to just one shot on target n the 90 minutes of play on the occasion.
Dundalk now have four wins and a draw in the last five Premier Division rounds and they have climbed to fourth place as a consequence.
O’Donnell’s squad are only three points below second-placed St. Patrick’s Athletic and European football for the next season is well on the cards once again for one of the most popular teams in Republic of Ireland.
Dundalk will be looking to keep the good momentum on Friday evening when they visit Dalymouth Park for the Matchday No 23 tie against mid-table Bohemian.
Bohemian are just four points shy of Friday’s counterparts in the league table but they have managed to collect no more than a couple of points from the previous two rounds.
Bohemian looked toothless in the final third seven days ago in a tough 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sligo Rovers.
Nevertheless, we must say they do tend to offer better performances at home than on the road. The team led by Declan Devine lost just one of the last five home outings in the league.
