Steffen Schmidt - March 2, 2023
Blackpool vs Burnley
English Championship
Date: 4 March 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: Bloomfield Road (Blackpool).
Blaclkpool host Burnley in the Lancashire derby of the Matchday No 35 in English Championship on Saturday afternoon at Bloomfield Road.
The visitors enter the tie as heavy favorites based on everything we have seen so far in the season. Indeed, it will be very hard to imagine any other scenario but Burnley’s win this weekend.
Clarets maintained their 12-point advantage by claiming a demolishing 4-0 victory over Huddersfield Town seven days ago at Turf Moor.
It was a one-way street from the first to the final whistle for Kompany’s men who now have 12 wins and 2 draws in the previous 14 league affairs.
Clarets have all but secured the elite class promotion. Nevertheless, the huge advantage atop the league ladder does not prevent them from producing beautiful football week in-week out.
We expect the best attacking line in the league to have plenty of space to deliver past the leaky Blackpool defense on Saturday.
The Seasiders lost three of the last four league games. They also have six defeats in the previous nine matches in all competitions, just one of which they’ve won.
This negative spell of form keeps them four points shy of the safe zone line. Head coach Mick McCarthy has a lot to think about ahead of the clash with the most lethal attacking line in the competition, especially after his team allowed three goals to the likes of Reading last weekend at Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Burnley won 12 of the last 14 Championship games. They are up against the relegation strugglers who have lost three of the last four matches. It is really hard to make case for the hosts on Saturday.
We will take Clarets to win as the main bet at the 1.61 odds, while you can alternatively back Burnley to score Over 1.5 Team Goals at the 1.72 odds.
