Aron Wright - January 23, 2022
Birmingham City vs Peterborough United
England – Championship
Date: Tuesday, 25 January 2022
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: St. Andrew’s Stadium.
Not only are Peterborough one of the worst teams in the Championship at the moment, but they are also a recently promoted squad from the League One – and they have been struggling to adapt right from the get-go.
They are placed in the relegation zone of the second division at the moment, and there is a huge chance that they will make it back to where they came from at the end of 2021-22.
Meanwhile, Birmingham have had their fair share of troubles, but they have comparatively been far better. As of now, they are trying their best to secure a mid-table finish, and they have been making the most of their fixtures at home.
As things stand, expect Birmingham to be the better team on the pitch this Tuesday. Do note that they also have the better h2h record at this venue over the years.
Birmingham recorded a 2-1 win at home the last match-day, against Barnsley. They have also lost just twice at home since the first week of October, and they had scored two or more goals in four of their last eight appearances at home.
On the other hand, Peterborough lost 3-0 on the road the past game week, against West Brom. They are also on a two-fixture losing streak, and had conceded a total of seven goals in the process.
Moreover, they had lost 14 of their preceding 15 road trips, and they had let in a total of 17 goals from their last six away games combined.
Taking into account these observations, expect a win for Birmingham this Tuesday.
