Belarus vs Moldova
UEFA Nations League
Date: Monday, 15th October 2018
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Stadion Dinamo (Minsk).
It is a solid start for Belarus in the UEFA Nations League and they stay at top of League D’s Group 2 with 7 points from first three games.
The just foregone Saturday saw them edging a 1-0 win against Luxembourg, the three points pushing them up the table with a point lead against the opponent they beat.
On the other hand, Moldova are third in the group, but they just bagged the first group win, 2-0 at home vs the tiny San Marino.
Moldova were beaten 4-0 by Luxembourg in their opening group game, before they bagged a hard earned goal-less draw against Belarus.
It will be worth to note that Moldova had won just 2 of their last 28 away games in all competitions, drew 9 and lost 17.
Moldova defeated the lowest ranked side in Europe San Marino last week, but they are a side that pose little threat while on travels. This team’s last away win in all competitions date back to March 2017 at San Marino, a gap of 11 games. Moreover, they managed to score just 3 goals in the process.
Belarus are a team growing in confidence and they will come here with good spirits after picking 2 wins and a draw from three group games so far and keeping clean sheets in the process. This clearly indicates a home win this Monday and won’t be a surprise if Belarus do this with another clean sheet.
