Bayern Munich vs Salzburg
Champions League
Date: Tuesday, 8 March 2022
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Allianz Arena.
The Bavarians were shocked with a 1-1 draw in the first leg, and all eyes are on the second leg. This could turn into the upset of the season. Some lowly minnows from Austria chopping down the mighty Bayern.
But chances are very low for it to happen. For one thing, the second leg is at the Allianz Arena, where the crowd will be waiting. And secondly, the Bavarians will be eager to show the world that the draw in the first leg was just a fluke. They need to regain their status as ‘killers’.
And it’s expected that all of this will be overwhelming for Salzburg. They already have a poor h2h record against the German champions, and against other Bundesliga squads as well.
Expect a reinvigorated Bayern Munich to deliver a convincing win this Tuesday.
The first leg did end in a 1-1 draw. But that’s old story now. The nine-time defending German champions will be prepared for this upcoming fixture. The Allianz Arena has been a fort for the team for years now, and some of the heavyweights in Europe have had tough outings here.
It’s safe to say that the visiting Austrians will be massive underdogs this Tuesday.
Moreover, Salzburg have really underperformed in their away fixtures this season. In fact, they have managed to post a total of just three wins on the road in the past five-month period, and one of these victories had come against a team from the lower division (OFB Cup game).
Judging these observations, as well as past h2h stats, expect a compelling win for Bayern Munich.
