Barcelona had a disappointing week as they were knocked out of the Champions League against French side PSG. It was an expected result given that the French champions had won the 1st leg in Spain 4-1. The 2nd leg finished 1-1 but there was praise for Barcelona who played a really good game and battled hard.
It was interesting to see that Barcelona played very well in Paris despite going out of the Champions League and the feeling is that their coach Ronald Koeman has got his system working now and that the team are playing very good football and to their potential.
Barcelona will be the odds on favourites to win this Monday evening game and would go 2nd in the league with a win. It’s actually a must win game and if they do so they would only be 4 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona have won their last 3 games in a row and at home the club has the 2nd best home record in the league and have lost just 1 game.
Huesca are bottom of La Liga and have 20 points but they are only 4 points from safety and could still stay up, though no one will be expecting the club to get anything in this game.
Their form is average too and they have earned just 4 points from their last 15. Huesca’s last game ended in a thrilling 4-3 loss against Celta Vigo. Away from home the club have won just once so far this season.
As expected Barcelona are huge odds on and we are not going to go against them. Barca have a lot of motivation to win this game and could go on and win the league with the form they are in. They would also go past Real Madrid with victory.
The problem we have is we cannot back Barcelona at odds of 1/6 to win the game so we will look into different markets. The goals markets could be good value.
A few years back Barcelona scored goals for fun against Huesca but have only managed 1 goal in their last two games. We expect a solid result from Barcelona but maybe not 8 goals as Huesca have been quite stubborn away from home and have only conceded 22 goals so far on the road.
