Barcelona are hoping to maintain the perfect home record in La Liga on Monday evening when they host Granada in the last game of the Matchday No 5.

Barcelona began the first La Liga season without Lionel Messi since 2003/04 with two wins and a draw in the opening three matches.

It can be regarded as a solid start for the team led by Ronald Koeman if we know they’ve played Basque rivals Real Sociedad (a 4-2 win at home) and Athletic Bilbao (a 1-1 draw away) in the process.

Nevertheless, the Catalans lost Antoine Griezmann on the last day of the summer transfer window and their starting forward Martin Braithwaite suffered a knee injury (won’t be available in the next three to four months after the surgery) in the meantime.

This leaves Dutch duo Memphis Depay and the latest acquisition Luuk de Jong as the only two healthy options in the final third right now.

The limits of the current Barcelona squad could have been noticed in the mid-week’s Champions League affairs against Bayern Munich.

Blaugrana failed to make a single shot on target, allowing the Bavarians seven at the same time in a tough 0-3 defeat at the Camp Nou.

However, we still have to look at Barcelona s the favorites on Monday against Granada who have not been pulling up any trees lately.

The visitors started the season with two draws, but went on to lose the following two matches (4-0 at Rayo Vallecano and 1-2 at home to Real Betis).

Granada showed a couple of disastrous performances in the last two rounds. They were super vulnerable at the back against both Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis, allowing way too many goal-scoring chances in both affairs.

Despite all problems they are currently facing, Barcelona should be capable of exploiting these Granada’s defensive holes and we can’t back anything else but a comprehensive victory for the hosts.
